The Commodore PET was a primitive 8 bit computer, and it had unimpressive graphics. A couple of years ago a coder named shiru8bit made a beautiful demo with really smooth graphics. It looked so good for such a primitive machine!

backstory: 4 years ago i picked up this SGI O2 from a mechanical engineer in a neighbouring city. he had owned it since the late 90s, and used it for a couple of years as a desktop machine at his business. when they switched to Wintel desktops a few years later, it went into a storage room for two decades.

I suspect many people who even get the nextcube reference in the first place will remember that time that simson garfinkel burned the case of one to see what would happen (they’re made of magnesium) but iirc they actually got next to give them a spare case, no actual workstations were harmed
